    Just play to your strengths.

"All is fair in love and war."

    A very true statement.

It's called doing a stab... He freaking stabs his katana into the Knight.

Knights armor is tough, But it was made for protection not movement. Samurai armor on the other hand is built for both.

And Katana's are one of the best made swords depending on where you get them.

A knight with a mace can beat a samurai with a katana, maces can shatter shields, swords, and armor easily.

Think about that... A say... Uhh...

    "40-50Lb. Mace" against a say "10lb(MAX) Katana"

When the Knight goes to take a swing the Samurai could probably land about... uhh maybe 5 hits on him.

And RikkuFox, Don't spam. This is a thread called: "Samurai VS. Knight" no where in it is the word "Pirate".

Due to popular belief a katana can NOT cut through mideival armor. There armor was made THICK. It wasn't light. So think!

If I swing a stick at a 2x4 that sticks going to break.

Knights weren't trained, they were gaged by how many people they could kill and how fast. Samurai on the other hand were trained on vital points, etc. So while a knight is swinging a huge ass sword around a samurai can look at whats happening and find a way to attack those spots.

So please think before you make a mindless comment.

you guys put out knights to be some stupid slow unable to fight people... retarded.

I say a samurai would win 1v1 but in a full out war it'd be close..

btw good site on this subject :

    http://www.thearma.org/essays/knightvs.htm

If u read this you'll see that it'd be close. and that knights are not what most of you think of them as likewise for the samurai

Ghost... All that makes sense and all, but think about the education. Japanese were taught more in training with a sword then normal knights.

Most knights went into battle with someone slapping them on the shoulders saying, "Hope yah don't die." Unless you were extremely special or noble you wouldn't be given training... Hell you wouldn't be a knight.

First of all, a samurais weapon woudnt stand a chance in hell of penetrating a knights armour. The knight gets one hit in and the samurai dies, also, Knights were trained and they never sent a lot of knights into battle, Soldiers and Knights are different. Knights tended to be higher respected, well trained and would defend important people.

Also, not all knights used huge ass swords, of course some used Lances, and some used regular swords :|
