    Definitely add something to the bottom, at the moment it looks incomplete.

    Nice coding, it's good that people are using divs. :)

    YAY, finally people using REAL code instead of relying on tables to position their content.

    I viewed your source code, I see you are still using tables, but, you gotta start somewhere :D, nice job!

    uhh, tables should NEVER be used. Only to show actual table information and when you have a major bug in your CSS, and that's seldom :P.

    footer looks good, make it about 20 or 30px closer to the body though

    Nice template.

    The way i code my templates is just create the template in Photoshop and then save optomized as images and html web page. I then open it in note pad and add some test in the context box using some html and add some images using html.

    It ends up pretty good. Although i can not make expandable comtext boxes. I think its called I frames or something. Is css better than html ? i read something about Css being better because you can put in one command like:

    <style type="text/css">
    body {font-size:12px;}

    And that command will apply to all the text on the page.

    Can anyone give me a web site or something to get started on Css? or how to make expandable context boxes?

    Thanks

    First, to clarify, CSS doesnt replace the html.

    Coding a css-pure website means the only time tables are used is when they are meant to display tabular data, data you can organize into rows, columns, that kind of thing.

    Css is a better choice than tables though when it comes to webdesign. Tables were never meant to be used to position content, however the advent of the border attribute (among other things), that allowed people to remove the border on a table, gave people the option to position things on their site with it.

    There are a number of reasons CSS is a better alternative to tables.

    One is size. A tables website uses sufficiently code to write something that could be done with almost always less code with CSS. This can reduces the file size, and therefor saves bandwidth. Although this may be a small change in file size (measurable in KB), for websites that have an extremely large amount of traffic, this saved size adds up and can save considerable money. Also, many images are replaced by css data, which saves considerable bandwidth. (Borders, background colors don't need images for example).

    Another reason is mobile browsing. Mobile browsers don't give the option to view tables very well. However, they don't often parse CSS either. This means that, on that little screen, using a css website, all style information will be gone, leaving you with pure content.

    Another big kicker is scalability. With a tables website, if you want to make a change, all I can say is "have fun..." With a tables site exported from imageready, adding a new navigation button, for example, requires you to go back and reslice things over. CSS allows for much easier editing, among other reasons than this one.

    There are other reasons as well.

    Heres an example

    Code:
    body {
       background: #111 top repeat url(images/gradient_bg_x.png);
       border: 1px solid #FFF;
       font: 14px Arial,Helvica,Verdana,"Times New Roman";
       color: #333;
       padding:0;
       margin:0
    }
    This makes it so that:

    The background is #111111, and will have the file gradient_bg_x.png tile horizontally across the top.
    The entire page will have a 1 pixel, #FFFFFF border around it.
    The text will be 14 pixels in size, and the font it will use is Arial. (If arial cant be found, it will try Helvica, then Verdana, and then Times New Roman).
    The color of the text will be #333333;
    The page will not be padded against the margin edge of the page, nor will it have margins.
    ---

    Also, I hate to tell you, but your use of tables in this one to organize content doesnt make it CSS-P. That two column technique could be CSSed.

    Otherwise, nice code.

    Thanks alot for that information. The begining of next moth i start a web development course so hopefully i will learn a little more about Css.

    The way i do it by editing the Image ready file, would you say its less *professional* and is a little messy ?

    If i wanted the learn more about css and how to change my photoshop template to Css how would i go about doing this ?

    Thanks alot for the info.
