Wow, i have read many of these posts, and it seems America are a power loving country, because that how it seems. Most Americans (if not all) who have posted in this topic have been obsessed with America being better than everyone, if this is the stuff that your teachers teach you, you need to realize there is a world outside of the USA.

The US falls under the category that Russia falls under: veto. This classifies them as the major power in the political world and usually veto nations are given that right because of some factor that makes them one of the most powerful nations. Russia has the vast armies, US is the wealthiest, China is a major economic player, and France and UK have a little of each. Moving on, yes, we are involved in almost every war because we happen to take our role as a veto nation as a responsibility to help end wars and whatnot. Personally, I dont care which nation has the most powerful weapon and army. The most powerful weapon, the WMD - I was gonna say nuclear bomb, but there are so many names (ICBM, fission bomb, etc) - is no longer secluded to a single nation and its frightening that something that has enough power to destory nations in seconds is in the hands of 8 different countries, several of which are in the middle of a war. Humanity is nothing but sin and evil, that is the Pessimistic theory. THere is no true justice in society, and all who thought of the idea of an atom bomb, and I mean it, should have been arrested for unleashing what could be our demise.

Reading some of these posts, I really think the problem is the fact that all the countries are trying to be superior than one another instead of working together.

It doesn't matter if you're a communist, a socialist, a democrat, a republican, a populist, etc etc. Just stop and work together.

I don't know is Russia is really a threat or not, I don't see why they would be seeing how we don't mind their business...that is until we see some sort of profit for ourselves.

i have to agree with both of you, especially with White Tiger's thoughts.
indeed, these days all is about power, greed, wars.
we all know how the atomic bombs can handle the population.that makes me think about moving to New Zeeland or something like that.

well all of the big 5 countries can nuke the crap out of each other. So sure Russia is a threat but so are the other big 5 countries. I don't think anything has changed though making Russia more of a threat that needs to be concerned.

russia best tanks n subs? best weapons? best army?

lets see - step 1 in the logical process.

best army..where is it? iv not seen it since surbia! perhaps b/c the army is surpisingly small and poorly equipped!

best weapons? strange, in every aspect besides 2 the soviet weapons are inferior to those of US and european manufacture. those to catagories are durability and avalibility. the soviet weapons are practicly unbreakable, and they give em out on street corners.

best tanks? ya um not since the cold war. heard of the M2 abrams?

best subs? ummm...about that. hte soviet navy is so underfunded that thier nuclear submarines cant even be stored indoors durning the winter. this is causing a large nuber of thier cores to become unstable from the cold and the sub has to be scrapped. the soviets always had MORE subs, but not nessisarrily better.

wow...logic tells us that the soviets do NOT have the better army! but are they still a threat? read on...

yes, i believe the soviets are still a threat. the soviets still follow stalins old words, "quantity has a quality all its own". the soviets have weapons pouring out thier ears. they could fairly easily put the US up to good fight. thing is, they would loose. they would also have half their population killed, so the soviets wont be attacking us any time soon.

if you want a threat, look at the chinese....

I truly think you dont know what the hell your talking about.

This is for china ill find more later.

    # Its 2.8 million-person army is the world's largest but is poorly trained and equipped.

    # Its 8,500 tanks are slow, small and out-of-date.

    # The 4,000 fighter planes in the Chinese air force are mostly from the 1960s and 1970s and lack modern avionics.

    # Its navy's 61 submarines and 54 surface ships are capable of little more than coastal patrols.

Now relig, how would they destory the US. I live in the us and im not for or against russia being more powerful. Considering the russians have turned over to a "deomocracy" i belive that peace talks would be in order pretty soon, i havent watched the news latley so im not sure if they allready have. But seriously US's leadership in technology gives the US an amazing advantage, even if we do get bombed randomly we have planes and bombers and such that could fly over to russia quickly and drop multiple Atomic/Hydrogen or whatever bombs we have. We would retaliate quicly and with massive force. Now if there is a challege for the US i would be willing to admit it, but i have seen nothing from any other country that gets me worried.
