A person in my clan is having some issues with his computer. When he turns it on he said it goes to the screen which gives you the option to choose Normal mode or Safe Mode. He said it doesn't matter which option he chooses it just reboots after.

    Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, he doesn't want to have to reformat just yet. Anyone else heard of this problem before?

Thanks for the help though BetaMerc. :)

A similar problem. It goes till 'Windows XP loading' then restarts itself. CHKDSK on C: (or where WINDOWS is located). That should fix the problem imo.

Sounds like it could be a boot.ini problem. If it is he needs to do a repair of Windows XP. He just needs to pop in his Windows CD and press R or something and it will repair windows without reformating.

    hmm

well i had the same problem and it was due to a basic **** up

u dont need to re-install windows just repair it.

also check your hard drives are securly plugged in as ifone is loose it will keep shutting down like 5 seconds after you log into windows.
