Well, I don't know if it is possible or not, but I need to recover a file that I deleted about 6 months ago. The file was on my desktop, and I didn't feel I needed it, so I deleted it into the recycle bin, and then emptied the recycle bin. I searched on google for a program, and I couldn't find one that worked very well. I have deleted many files, so after it does the search or whatever, I would like to be able to search for the file. So, does anyone know any programs/techniques to recover this file? P.s. The file was a .mpg (if that matters at all)
i dont think it is possble some programs from Symantics make backup copies of deleted and removed files of the recycling bin. I doubt you could retrieve it if u did install it now tho...
@echo. @undelete @list @echo. @pause or UNDELETE [d:][path][filename] [/DT|/DS|/DOS] UNDELETE [/list|/all|/purge[d:]|/status|/load|/U|/S[d:]|/Td:[-entries]]
I think the syntax is now... RECOVER [d:][path][filename] [/DT|/DS|/DOS] RECOVER [/list|/all|/purge[d:]|/status|/load|/U|/S[d:]|/Td:[-entries]] Just type in Recover in DOS it "MIGHT" still be there. I am not sure if you have overwritten it in 6 months. If you have, NO RECOVERY POSSIBLE. It's like when you run 000s over a disk, if you wrote over it, it's gone, period. But there is a SLIGHT chance that if you hadnt done much defragging or new installs, it may MABe there. Who knows.
First thing, no, system resoring 6 months is not going to fix your issue, its just going to make you have to reinstall everything over that you installed in the past 6 months, and undo any changes you've made to the OS in the past 6 months. System restore is not meant for personal file recovery.
