ALSO WHAT RAM SHOULD I GET?? OCZ OR Kingston Hyper X PC SPECS Pentium 4 ht 2.8gh 512mb ddr ram (2stick of 256) i have 2 slots open for more Dual channel ram support Motherboard- Asus P4SD-VL PLEASE HELP ME
Nope it cant take DDR2, cause if it says PC-3200, then it takes DDR. Also what kind of RAM want depends on what you are going to do with your PC. Also PC-3200 means it will take that and below, so PC-2700, PC-210, etc. but I would say dont get anything apart from PC-3200 because all the sticks of RAM will run at the speed of the slowest stick. Good manufacturers include: Geil, Mushkin, OCZ, Crucial, Elixir, Kingston, Corsair, etc. If you want to be more specific, and say what your PC will be used for, and how much RAM you want, I'd be happy to pick you out a matched pair.
What stuff do you plan on runing? Please tell us your graphics card. If that isn't any good, there is probably no point in upgrading. 512MB is probably running everything fine for you at the moment. If you have a not-so-good video card, then I would best suggest waiting for enough money for a complete upgrade. Either way, post you graphics card.
