Hi Can My Pc Take Ddr 2 Ram?

    hi im buying new ram for my pc and im wondering if my pc can take DDR2 ram, also what kind of slot do i need, im confused when it says PC3200 i know i can take that. BUt what else can i take ??

    ALSO WHAT RAM SHOULD I GET??

    OR
    Kingston Hyper X

    PC SPECS
    Pentium 4 ht 2.8gh
    512mb ddr ram (2stick of 256)
    i have 2 slots open for more
    Dual channel ram support
    Motherboard- Asus P4SD-VL
    PLEASE HELP ME :)

    Nope it cant take DDR2, cause if it says PC-3200, then it takes DDR. Also what kind of RAM want depends on what you are going to do with your PC. Also PC-3200 means it will take that and below, so PC-2700, PC-210, etc. but I would say dont get anything apart from PC-3200 because all the sticks of RAM will run at the speed of the slowest stick.

    Good manufacturers include: Geil, Mushkin, OCZ, Crucial, Elixir, Kingston, Corsair, etc. If you want to be more specific, and say what your PC will be used for, and how much RAM you want, I'd be happy to pick you out a matched pair.

    What stuff do you plan on runing? Please tell us your graphics card. If that isn't any good, there is probably no point in upgrading. 512MB is probably running everything fine for you at the moment. If you have a not-so-good video card, then I would best suggest waiting for enough money for a complete upgrade.

    Either way, post you graphics card.

    i have ati 9600xt . im gettin my ram off ebay going to spell $100 usd :) so i can get pretty much the best ram. I only want Corsair or OCZ or Kingston Hyper X , other kingston suck just hyper X good. for gaming and etc
