here is a template i'm workin on, but i'm at a loss as to what to do to it next, any ideas on how to improve it i know its too small, its just a rough design template to show my friends whom i'm makin it for
Hey that's a really nice template. There are two things I'd like to add to it: 1) I would tone down your reflections on the links a bit, or maybe give them gradients at a very low opacity. 2) You won't be able to use Visitor as the font for the entire site - at some point you'll have to pick a common system font for the content.
ya i know bout the visitor font (gj on knowing it), it was just for test text. and thnx for the great idea on the gradient for the txt reflection i will give that a try for sure... any other suggestions

The design is almost finished now - if you code it then we can review that if you like. Wait, also I think that your banner (which is very good quality by the way) needs to fit in to your background. Maybe give it an interface or a small drop shadow, but don't overdo it.
i used the ms sans serif in the context box... hows it look ? i also added the drop shadow the banner, did it make it look any better or does it look worse ?
The drop shadow works a treat - that instantly looks better. Not too sure of MS Sans Serif, but to see it properly you'd need to change all of the content to it. For other fonts try tahoma or verdana.
ya its not going to be the banner, just one i threw in so there was one there.. thnx for all the great comments
I really like the top section - the Nav bar etc.. not to sure about the context box. I think you have beveled it too much, not sure might just be me, and maybe split it into two seperate boxes instead of one big one. Should help to split the page up a little.
