Best bet is don't do anything to the outside, maybe just rims and lower suspension.

But keep it pretty stock on the outside. First use your money under the hood.

Its better to have a sleeper, where it looks stock, and you'll just burn anybody that wants to race you, then to have something that looks like you race, but takes like 10 seconds to hit 60

i always say engine before body... if people laugh at the body you turn your car on adn they are sitting htere like ooo sh*t and your good to go... but if your goin out for shows then do body and engine later... it really depends on what you want, as for me im looking for a turbo charged eclipse year 97 or so, or a gsr integra i want the body to look decent but some paint problems will do i can fix those later for cheap cause i have friends who do that stuff... so i say engine is good !

    car value only goes down
insurance after you add stuff to your car raises

Only do it if you KNOW you will never get rid of it, because, when you sell it, you will never get your money back from all you have put into it.

i hate how cars that are tuned are hard to sell.

But Ya consider that ur insurance is almost guarenteed if not already to go up as soon as u toss on something like a Turbo. More horse power means more risk meaning more likely hood ull wreck and insurance companies want to make money not lose it tryin to replace your car decked out of its mind.

Personally the dumbest thing to do to a car is deck a car out to 1500 hp. Supposedly there is a Supra out there with 1500 Hp and hits 0-60 in a second a half yes 1.5 seconds. That is just dumb think about wat u can do with it...race? LoL i would freak out that my car with fall to pieces with that much torque running through it and that if i got anywhere near top speed it'd take me a good 5 mins to stop because if you stop too fast u'd start twisting.

So wats a 1500 hp supra useful for....oo car shows, but ah brilliant i spent most of my money under the hood so thats all i'm getting.

    Anyway keep the discussion up

yes i believe it is, if u drive it, because people spend $30,000+ and trailer their car everywhere. if i had a muscle car i would need paint and rims, engine mods. imports are another story but i would put a body kit rims paint engine mods and a wing, then go from their...

Well car modding is ok i guess to a certain extent...if you are REALLY into the whole car odeal yeh why not and if you take it to show's and win competitions and race for money yeh sure its perfect!!

But on the otherhand when you just mod up your own driving around car u drive to the supermarket etc. its not so simple anymore.. you have to pick a spot to park in carefully because someone might bump you!! and also speedhumps in a lowered car is a nightmare u have to go sideways and talking about low profile tyres my friend has a holden rodeo sitting on lexani 20's and it takes awhile to go over speed humps hence wasting time and it takes you longer to get to your destination.

Turbo's are just for attention seekers who want to feel big with that boost of power that can kill you in a blink of an eye. If you really want that little bit of pulling power just get a new engine or bore it out!! easy
! it will cost alot more but is safer because a turbo actually ----s the car over if its not done properly!

But overall paint rims and all the fancy bits are ok to put on a car as i said before to a certain extent! reason being that cops will be on you 24.7 and well yeh you get the drift

It all depends on how you look at it. Personally, i think it's worth it if you know what you're doing...I'm in love w/ cars and know a lot about 'em now. My sisters boyfriend raced for BMW for a while than quit to get a better education and now he's a tech for BMW...I'm in love w/ cars. Just don't get anything that's useless...Like don't get a bottle of Nitrous Express unless you plan on racing...Because then it's just a waste of money...And if you are planning on putting sticker decals of companies any where on your car, only put ones of companies that you have parts of theirs actually IN your car. Believe me...do your homework before buying ANYTHING extra.

I hope you didnt forget the most important thing gas cause you will spending lots of money you figure @ $3+ a gallon and having 300+ hp you be lucky to get 20 mile a gallon highway and 17 street miles. Its always nice to have some massive hp but with the price of gas now it could cost you alot of money and just be a pain in da azz in the long run

Save your money for a better car. They decrease in price anyway, and i wouldnt buy a car done up by a 19 year old and torn around streets.

i have some knowledge about cars. i have been a promoter for Hot Import Nights for about 2 years and usually go in for free and then some. i still go to about 20 or so big car shows a year. The first car that got me into car modding was my 2001 VW GTI 1.8T. First was the intake, then the exhaust, then the wheels, bov, fmic, suspension, system/dvd player, a front lip, and then a few other mods. next was a 1990 240sx coupe way before the drifting scene blew up in the states. i ended up wrecking that and now i currently have a 1990 nissan 240sx fastback.

i want an sr20det motor but right now its just not practical for me to do so. i suggest if you have the money and the know how then go for it. just decide what you want more of show? or go? if its both then i suggest starting with the latter. why? because if your car doesnt run even though it might look nice then it really doesnt matter. just make sure to research everything and maybe you can do it yourself or know someone who is quite capable of doing things for you. i did everything myself and i think that is the best way to go about it. besides shops charge up the arse for everything. and since you want to build a supra im assuming you have a lot of money. so if you have the money then go for it. if not then research something that might be more manageable for you. either way good luck to you. :D
