    lets discuss this

You got 3Ds, C4D and maya that are the best in my books.

now look at this, i found out recently they are the best in specific fields, and the mds program is just real good overall.

What do u guys say, what do u guys say which is best for what, and for what reason

Maya is good for modeling animals, and more lifelike(or imaginative) creatures in my book - but I always found 3dsmax to be better for vehicles, buildings, and larger 'objects.' Cinema4d and Cool3d cannot even be compared to the same league of both these programs, they are good for some smaller things, but nothing on a grand scale like 3DS and Maya are used for.

For the record, back when I used Maya - it was free for educational purposes. Meant you'd never be able to sell your work, but at least you get to try the program without visiting a warez site and getting viruses.

I personally use c4d but yeah, it's probably better for smaller things. Never tried Maya or 3dsmax....

disney uses maya for their pixar stuff. If you are only going to make abstract renders for LP's use C4D or 3dmax will do the job.

well cinema 4d is commonly know for abstract artist everywhere, and not so much a modeling program. but it can make some amazing models, with alot more time and dedication.

next is 3d studio max, which is basicly the ultimate and most difficult to learn modeling program, but once you know it, its all goood, it is thee best "modeling" progam out there

Lets just say Madagascar, Shrek, Shrek II, Shark Tale, and many others were made by Maya 7.0.

Is it not worth the $7,000? :P
