Hello all, I have a small problem. My mic picks up my voice, but my mates hear a lot of background noise. Like grrrrrrrrr the whole time. They say it sounds like a radio of 1952. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Please keep it easy because I dont know much about how computers work.
What program are you using to speak with them. Also check your volume levels and make sure your mic isnt all the way up but the other volumes are the low ones. bring your mic level down some and see if that helps.
Background noise is the a result of a poor quality mic. Not the software. Can you post up what kind of mic you have please. ZERO.
I use teamspeak, and yes I must admit I have a crappy cheap mic, but I did not have this problem on my old somputer. I know background noise is normal but this is very, very loud background noise.
Is it a headset, or a standalone mic? The farther the mic is from your mouth the more background noise you will get. Try getting a headset for your computer. You will see the imprevement in sound quality right away. I guarantee it. ZERO.
First off it has nothing to do with the $ of the mic at all. Are you using XP Pro or home or a newer version of windows and if you are doto Control panel then click on sounds and audio Devices, Now were it says Device Volume click on Volume then on the top left hand corner click on options then properties kmake sure Mic and PC Speaker is checked. Then hit ok... Then check to see if it is Muted...also their should be a advanced tap at the bottom of your Microphone settings below the volume, If so then click on it and make sure the box is checked... If it is leave it there and that your Mic is all the way up, If you dont see the advanced tap then goto the left corner and click on the options tab again then click on advanced controls. Then youll see the advanced tab..Who cares what kind of mic you have. I have 65 members with all kinds of mics and it does not matter. now also it matters if your mic is pluged in to the Pink port.. Also if you have a Sound card that it is pluged into it and not the defalut port on Mobo (motherboard) If you dont have a Soundcard then make sure that you have a headphone and mic together then it would be for the same thing.. Now you should not have the background sounds any more. Still could you answer one question...is it a standalone mic, or a headset? Like I said earlier, the closer the mic is to your mouth the less background noise. ZERO.
