I doubt that it would become a state.

Well I didn't read any of the above posts, but if Cuba doesn't stay communist after Castro and his brother's deaths, than there will be a FLOOD of Cuban immigrants/refugees, take that however you want to.

No, we might have another situation again, I don't think the US should help Cuba out in any way except to steer it in the right direction should things get bad. What I mean by a situation.. well.. I don't want to sound weird, but sometimes everything in Spanish where I live gets irritating. I think they made everything in Spanish because so many immigrants stream in from who knows where. Directions for some new thing I got were all in Spanish, and I couldn't read them, which got me PO'ed.

I'm not racist. Please don't accuse me of being a racist because I'm not.

And I'm fully aware that not all immigrants/foreigners are criminals like the media makes them out to be-I used to be very good friends with a girl like that but she moved away in May or April.

No hard feelings to anybody intended.

Cuba needs to deal with things in its own way. Let's finish the war on terror first.

Stay away from the USA? What? Cuba is anything but Americanized, and it was a relief when I visited there earlier this year. Now I may have misunderstood you on whether you mean physically, or socially, but still. That confuses me.

I doubt Cuba becomes a state of USA. Even tho i have never in my life visited Cuba, i personally think ('cause of the pics i've seen) that Cuba is basicly a Museum, dont get me wrong, its old and second hand, (as Bacon said). I seen pics that amazed me of Cuba, and i'm looking forward to go to Cuba at least once in my life, but Cuba becoming part of US, i doubt it.

Cuba only looks old and second hand because of the difficulty they have trading with people because of embargos that America placed on them. And like I said despite the tough embargos Fidel managed to feed, clothe, and house almost everyone.

Don't take that as me saying I think Fidel is a great guy, because that's not the case. But every leader has flaws.

Exactly. That's what EVERY Cuban I asked said. If Ernesto Guevara was still alive, Cuba would be in a better state, most likely that is. I'm tired, so I'll stop there before I start another aimless rant.
