1) You don't need to buy Mcafe, it's crap for the money too. You can use Linux for an OS use something else by getting it a special way. You can also ask a friend for a Volume CD-Key for Windows, which are allowed to be used as many times as they want.
he said he didn't want dell(AW is owned by dell now) READ as many will say, ibuypower if you don't mind being ripped off a little... vs. building... almost anywhere if you don't mind being ripped off a lot worse... as for windows installer discs.... it will work, but not well(driver issues)... you'de want another windows disc. i suggest not pirating it. DO not PIRATE IT. DOn't GO TO A WAREZ SITE AND DOWNLOAD IT... mcafee is crap, we have a free software list on this site and much fo the free stuff works better. did i mention it was free?
nice subliminal message with the Windows disk thing Xelink, I am also going to be building a computer but am looking at saving a few hundred by using my XP Home disk that came with my Dell (ew.) Would using that disk, with one of those driver cleaner programs (I dont remember its name so someone would have to tell me) and removing all the drivers that belonged to the old Dell? BTW, are Windows XP Media Centre 2005 disks put on CDs or DVDs?
Your hilarious. ---- And curious, building a computer is nowhere near as daunting as it may sound. The chance of electrocuting yourself is basically null if its not plugged in (you should be working on a plugged in computer to begin with). Also, the chance of ruining parts from electric shock is, also, virtually null, if you ground yourself (as simple as slipping a bracelet over your hand). Then, just dont touch certain parts of the computer and pieces (which are clearly stated) and plug card A into slot B. Everything normally comes with documentation. Not to mention, in the end, its nice having that satisfactory feeling that the computer your using you built yourself and you wernt ripped off by some other huge company. My two cents.
