    what is that checkerboard pattern and how do u make it.

    It's a checkerboard.

    Make a new 2x2 document and make 2 corners black. Save it as a pattern. Then just change the size when you apply it.

    They may be big there but when you apply a new pattern layer you can scale it so they get bigger.
