so. ive had this comp a while, and im finally fed up with playing games which are like 9 years old, since the gfx card is so bad. im not looking for a state of the art gfx card, but just one that can play simple-ish things like halo, counterstrike(i cant even play 1.6), or even warcraft 3. im looking for somethin around 90 dollars. is there anything i should know before i go out and buy one? any tips on which ones are good?

if you're comp is that old you might not have an AGP slot, if you don't your gaming experience wont improve that much as PCI gfx cards arent very good

Well, i would suggest going to walmart and getting a cheap one for like 50$. That are get a new computer. First off, from the sound of it. Do you even have a graphics card? Cause my friend doesnt even have one so the only game he can pretty much play is runescape! lol.

^ That narrows it down a WHOLE lot.

Open up your computer and look on the motherboard for any of these slots, and then tell us which ones you have.

Does it look anything like this? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d1/AGP_slot.jpg (the brown one at the top)

Or any of these http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fc/PCIExpress.jpg (except for the one at the bottom, that one is PCI.)

bottom one is open boxed so it cheaper, but nothing is wrong with it

ahh you might need alot of things..your comp seems old to me so you will have problems like

    slow proccessor
    low ram
    bad gfx card

so you might need alot of things if you wish to play better games

Hmm the thing in your picture looks almost like a PCI-E x1 or x4 slot, which isn't graphics card compatible. You're going to have to either get a new mobo(get a new PC.. its not worth it just upgrading your mobo if your comp is old), or get a PCI graphics card. PCI isn't gonna be very good, so don't expect much.
