ok, so i was lookin into getting a new gfx card, so i opened up my comp, to check if i had an agp slot, or not. right next to my pci slots there is a brown slot half the size of a pci slot. its the same color as most agp slots, but it seems smaller than the pics of agp slots ive seen before. can you guys tell me if its a acp slot or not, and if not, what it is? ill upload a pic of it later

well to find out if you have an agp slot or not, run cpu-z. It should tell you somewhere in it. If it's not and AGP slot it may be a PCI-e x1 or x4.

the motherboard doesnt power the graphics card, the power supply does.

    http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
go there, download it, open it, and under the "Mainboard" tab, it will tell you your Graphic Interface.

And there are no wires from the motherboard going into the graphics card. The cards card slides into the slot, then on some/most of the graphics cards, there is a 4-pin mini and that gets its female counter-part from the power supply, not the motherboard.

    download cpu-z from HERE

unzip it and open it up and then go to the mainboard tab, it should tell you what slot you have at the bottom. If it says nothing then you have only PCI.

I wouldn't even think about buying another AGP card. Just switch it all to PCI-E. Much cheaper.

What processor do you have? What speed is your RAM? (CPU-Z will help with all those questions.) How much money do you have?

johndapunk: i got celeron 1.2ghz, 512mb ram, and no more than $110 to spend. :/
