Right i have agp motherboard and bad gfx card, now i want to upgrade gfx card but iam thinking maybe i should get pci-e motherboard and new gfx card but that would mean i would need to spend less on gfx card... What should i do and can anyone recomend me good agp gfx card?
Right nowadays, all the good cards are PCI-E, and most AGP cards will be pretty sucky. Even if you had to get a not-as-good PCI-E Card, it'd still probally be better than any AGP Card you'd get. If you can get a new pci-e mobo and not have to upgrade your processor, ram etc I'd do that. If you still want an AGP Card (not reccomended) then maybe try this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130036 If you can give me a idea of a price range, I culd give you a list of cards. Hope I helped.
I have just over £300, thats around $ 570 USD. But i need shop that will ship to United Kingdom ( scotland to be more specific ). If you could recomend me pci-e motherboad and gfx card for that money it would be brilliant. Here is some detail about my curent parts: cpu: amd 64 3700+ ( 754 pin ) RAM: DDR 400 ( anything other than that would effect motherboard type ? )
I would say get this: eVGA GeForce 7900GT 256MB PCI-E: http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=23939 £223.19 ABIT NV8 NF4 Socket 754: http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=21331 £45.77 Aria is the cheapest place on the web that ships to the UK. I used them to get parts for my latest build, and I highly reccomend them. You could choose your own mobo and gfx card from these categories, just make sure tha the mobo has PCI-E Mobo: http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductsList.asp?Cat...Page=1&SortBy=1 Gfx Card: http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductsList.asp?Cat...Page=1&SortBy=1
There is one VERY GOOD AGP card but it's a total rip off for the price but this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102492 That's better than alot of PCI-E
Master, quit being a Fanboy. If you want to be a fanboy, you could atleast give reasons WHY he should get nVidia instead of ATI.. telling him what to get without any reasons why isn't really helping him. From what I hear, Overclockers.co.uk is also a good retailer in the UK. I found the same parts that Jammie suggested, but for cheaper. On this page http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/7900_Series.html scroll down until you see this: EVGA GeForce 7900 GT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-006-EA) The new flagship NVIDIA® SLI™-Ready GeForce® 7900 graphics processing units (GPUs) are designed for extreme HD gaming and deliver ultra-realistic gaming experiences and unparalleled image quality at resolutions of up to 2560x1600. By any chance do you have a premade Dell, or HP, or one of those big-wig brand computers? If you do, in order to fit the motherboard into your case, you are most likely going to be playing twister with your case, because Dell and HP make their computers so that its really hard to upgrade the motherboard etc.
Thanks for help guys ill be ordering soon, and no i dont have those noobish cases, i got big case i also need to check something for cooling my pc because two extra fans at the top and in the side doesnt do much. thanks again. Merged Post: (+) rep'ed jammie and cannada for advice.
Yes the 7900GT is good but the ATI Radeon x1900xt is better. I am not siding with AT or NVIDIA but the x1900xt is better than a 7900 GT for a fact.
ohh and dont know if you stumbled accross the topic, but this is some advice for ur gfx card if it doesnt fit, dont cut it to make it fit because your computer genious friend said that u could
