Hey guys, Building my (2nd) Custom Built PC for my Dads house. I would like some PC Experets to take a l00k plz. I ordered the parts and have them besides me. What I ordered: *I only ordered monday so i can have them this weekend for my dads house*. -AMD Athlon 3500+ 2.2ghz -MSI K8N SLI-F ATX AMD Motherboard -GeForce 7600GS -1gig RAM *getting another gig this weekend* Can these parts run BF2 on High? Plus CS:S on High? My friend has the exact same PC, but with 3gigs RAM. And he runs HIGH with like no lag... wut so ever. Can these parts run BF2 on High? + CS:S?
Its not a big deal about AM2, its just there is more upgradability. Once you get that other GB you should be able to run BF2 on medium high settings, same goes with CS:S. If you want Extreme high settings then buy a 7900GT if you can.
ehh, No no, i had a 7900 it was burning up. I bought liquid cooling, it still burned up. PINS where broke, melted. Nah, maybe a 7800 but no plz no 7900.
The reason your 7900gt was 'burning up' was becuase of capacitor, electrical and voltage issues. Here is the new 'reloaded' edition. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130033
with the 7600 iu will be able to play bf2 on every thing high my x800gto runs it flawless with it all on high settings without any problems get this 7600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814127217 as for the 7900 if u willing to pay more go for it then
Why the hell havent you read these forums and not ordered on Monday? All the prices have just dropped on all the older processors; and why did you get s939? It's a dead board. When ddr3 comes out, you would have wished you had bought AM2. You could have easily bought an Athlon x2 3800+ for around $150 today, or gone the non-retarded way and got a Core 2 Duo. I'm assuming ddr 400 ram? even tho they have ram twice as fast in dual-channel for AM-2? Did you get 1x 1GB (and another strip of 1GB coming) or did you get 2x512mb (with another 2x512 coming)? 4x512mb isnt smart. You should have 2x 1GB on an AM-2 setup (or if you were even better, 2x1GB on an s775 with a core 2 duo!) You could have easily gotten: core 2 duo e6300 cheapest compatable 975x mobo cheapest 2x 1gb ddr2 800 x800gto
