lately my cpu has been getting really loud and its probably the loudest computer ive ever heard before...its in my room and i cant sleep with it on caz its just blasing and its so noisy...i dont know what the problem could be...all of my friends computers are so quiet compared to mine its so beat...any way to quiet it down a bit? its really nice and isnt old or anything and has plenty of free space on there...its so loud... someone help
Buy a new comp... Or try reformat... @Blaad3r. Some spyware, etc, etc, may use so me of the PCs cpu, which also can make it noisy.
Yes check the fans in it. It might have some cooling problems and might be over heating. That is probally the top reason for it being so loud.
check your CPUuseage and make sure it is idleing around 0-2%, enable any thermal throttling technologies applicable. ======= if the above does nto do anything: check the case fasn, replace with lower DB as needed check CPU HSF make sure it is functioning properly check the PSU the fans on that can be noisy check to see if it is the harddrive, it's VERY unlikly but possible. should sound like an anooying screech and not like a fan. ======= and if you are foolish, DL speedfan and just turn everything way low try to make sure nothing overheats though.
lol i have no clue how to do any of that spit... i might just call a dell reprsentitive or something and get them to take a look...and my cpu is amazing its not bad or anything theres no need for a new one...it doesnt have junk on it at all...
lol ask AKW. he'l give ya a tut or something. But get watercooled (if ya have the mone). Or get a new fan or so.
It's probably spyware, which makes your CPU stressed, so it gets hotter so your bios will let your fans run faster, which makes more noise. Do what xelink said.
Ooh its a Dell. That could just be your peoblem. Make sure the fans are firmly attached to their brackets, and make sure there is nothing obstructing them. Has it been doing this since you got it, or has it just started recently?
im not on it that much lol...and i dont play games...i get on to get on aim and go to sites and use photoshop...so no need to build a 1000 dollar computer....unless however you can build a cheeper one
the idea of building customs systems is that is it typically cheaper... past around 3-400ish if you don't need to buy the OS/monitor what's weird though is that Dell's typically only have like one or two fans so there is a heat risk but it shouldn't be THAT loud... again check each fan and see which one is the culprit, I'm assuming it's the fan because typically a harddrive doesn't make such sustained noise.
What do you use it for, I'll build you a better one for $500 Nevermind, I saw it, $500 USD okay price?
