Ok, well alot of people have lots of credits. So why are the fines like 25c, 50c. They should be like 200c or 500c for it to leave an impact. For a second offense it should be like 500c. Just saying

what about instead of just having a 50 credit fine, say if they have 500 credits or more, then it's like 10%+ of their credits. and more if they repeatedly do it

I think it really depends on the rule their breaking too, as to how much we fine. However, we do keep an eye on whether or not the amount we are fining has an impact and if after a period of time, we feel that it isnt affecting them, and people are still doing it. Then we raise the fine, just like we did with rep abuse, raising it from 25 to 50.

I dont neccessarily agree with a %, because just because you have more credits, doesnt mean you should be fined more then anyone else.

Do it by join date. Simple as that in my eyes, if they've been here longer (purchased account or not) they should be more aware of the rules in place. Newer members don't always read the rules, yes mainly because of being ignorant, but they also have fewer credits usually so a fine of any amount is hefty for them.

that't true, but it needs to be a bit more so it makes an impact so they wont do it again
that's also a good idea :) but not necessarily only by join date, but also by post count

The heck with do it by join date. You have to accept the rules before you join any way so wtf. Just read that and if you dont like then dont sign up.

Actually, you're agreeing to what is essentially the terms of service.
The actual forum rules that we're talking about are technically not agreed upon by registering. It's the job of the user to read and familiarize themselves with those rules after registering. Hence me bringing up my suggestion.

Why should the people with more credits get more of a fine? That's rediculous. We're all equal here...

Yea but say someone who had like 30k broke like 50 rules. He would still only get a 2.5k fine. So he wouldn't even care.
