My old comp used to "start from scratch" when ever I put in the recovery CD in. But for some reason it didn't restart. It's prolly becuz I reformatted one of harddrives or the CD is broken.. <_< But if you guys can actually help me on this one it'll be great. :)

    Comp Info:
    Compaq Presario 5000
COMPAQ Recovery CD [ which doesn't seem to work since I get an error.]
    2 Harddrives [ about 20 gigs each ]

Is your recovery cd scratched up? It's possible that your booth HD took a dump and will need replacing. Or you can just do a clean install of the OS. I would check the cd first.

Have you checked the connections on the Boot HD see if the power is connected and see if the IDE cable is plug in. Is your Boot HD showing up in the BIOS? You shouldn't need your recovery cd everytime you boot your system. Reply back once you've checked the basic stuff so we can eliminate the obvious.
