What are you talking about Rap doesn't take talent. Hip Hop has been announced this generations official music, how cool is that. Plus you have to be able to talk really fast, very few people can do that might i add, also, you have to be able to write rhymes while in Rock, only one verse it only like 7 lines long and doesn't need to rhyme at all. Rap takes a lot more talent than Rock! See, I have to disagree. In rock, usually every member of the band contributes musically, w/ one or two guys belting out the lyrics. It's more of a team effort, which requires a certain degree of precision, timing, etc. In rap and hip hop, for the most part, you have a beat layed down already. Sure, maybe you have somebody scratching up the turntables, but that's pretty rare nowadays. While I believe rap and hip hop lyrics are much more difficult to bust out, it's not like they're playing instruments or anything. Mostly bouncing around w/ a bottled water and a towel or something. Rap and hip hop rely on a pre-fab beat w/ the lyrical side of things being the most complicated, and really the defining factor as far as talent, as far as I'm concerned. The Roots, however, DO play their own instruments as well as sing, which I find very admirable. Any which way, if you've ever tried to write a song w/ a group of musicians, you soon discover just how difficult it is to put anything worth a dang together. Both genres require a certain degree of talent and expertise, w/ rock being slightly more complicated IMHO.
alright i'd have to say i went over board bit*chin and flamin u rock does take talents cuz if i ever tried i woudln't be able to play an instrument worth crap..and i just enjoy rap because ive been listenin to it since pac came out so thats around 10 yers now..so yea i aint flamin ur music or nothing i was just tryin to say rap takes talent to rhyme 16 bars per verse..aight cool
