i log onto a game i play and notice a diff ip logged on it i get so scared, its comcast.net and i use suscom(cable) so im like wtf is happening i goto track it, but first i goto whatismyip.com and notice the ip matchs ok so WTF? my ip is not what it said and it NEVER was? plus i have suscom NOT comcast?? what is happening has my isp provider suddenly assign me a wrong ip or what so i unplugged my router for a lil plug it back in let it connect and its still the same ip? i have a static ip too

Are you using wireless? You might inadvertantly be using somebody elses wireless connection, like.. your neighbors wireless connection or something.

EDIT: Oh ya, are you using a proxy? If you are that would be the problem..

I believe they are 2 IP's when you use a router. Theres no such thing as having your IP address wrong. :P

    Snipe. ;)

No, I doubt it's you... I bet it's whatever you checked it with. I would suggest checking it again instead of assuming it's wrong. Also, this time, look at the IP from the box and not the router. You don't need your router IP unless you are static routing.

Suscom is a partner with Comcast as far as I can tell, you are probably running through a terminal with Comcast's name on it.
