Ps3 Computer?

The reason why people buy consoles is because they dont want to deal with upgrades. Well guess what the ps3 is upgradable.

No, CPU, Ram, GPU can't be upgraded, because the games are made for them exact specs. Changing it, would make games run in the wrong way, causing them to crash. The only thing you can upgrade really is the Hard Drive, big woop? No.

LOL i wasnt asking for some one to say yes or no cause it is a offical yes if you read the playstation maginzine it says the ps3's parts can be upgradable.

Sweet i got my today. Theres like 10 games for the ps3 that are offically annouced but i cant seem to find it any where in the magizine.

 

It starts almost on the very first page.

The playstation 3 most probally won't process much data in the form of software. It's hardly a computer, the OS will be Linux, and very limited. It won't be a free for all do what you want, you won't be able to download software as you please from the net. It is more of a gaming console, than a computer. If you want to call it a computer, call it a very restricted computer. IMO, it's more of a Multi-Media device.

It'll be a borderline PC just so they won't get taxed on overseas shipping or something. Same thing they tried to do with the PS2, calling it a PC and even releasing Linux but in the end the feds said it wasn't a PC so no tax refund.

 

hmmm mabye..buts its definitly more than a gaming system..with blu ray, music capabilites, internet...etc.

 

Yeah. So what if it has all that, PS1 had music capabilities, and all consoles these days have internet, PS2, and both xbox's have DVD playing functions, as do PC's, you could upgrade the HDD on an xbox.

If a PS3 is a computer, than an xbox is too.
