i'm buying a new dell laptop [likely an inspiron e1405] and i was wondering about the battery. should i buy the 6 cell or the 9 cell. so far what i've heard is that the 9 cell has more battery life [by a few hours] but it is heavier by a pound. for upgrading from 6 cell to 9 cell for $100 is it worth it?
What are you plainng to use the laptop for when your using the battery? How long will you be running the laptop in between charges? I prefer having my laptop light. I don't like carrying extra weight. I go around everywhere with my laptop and I know I'm compromissing battery life with a regular battery, but it helps my back more without carrying that extra 1lb or 2. And for an extra $100 just to upgrade, I don't know about that. Maybe you can get a 2nd 6 cell battery for a cheaper price than $100. Goodluck.
