Hey.. Okay.. I was just wondering, when are Conroes coming out? I have heard rumors that they came out last week or something, but I thought they weren't coming out til the 27th or something. Also, when Conroes come out, will Intel cut their prices too, or will it just be AMD? I am looking for a good computer. It will be used for GAMING, OFFICE, WEB BROWSING, etc. I want it to have atleast 1gb of ram, maybe more if you think. And a semi-nice graphics card, nice size harddrive, good PSU, etc. All that fancy stuff. I am also looking to either get a Conroe & a compatible Motherboard, or a Conroe and Celeron Compatible Motherboard and stick my old Celeron in there until Conroes come out and I buy one. Or, if you dont think that Conroe would fit in my price range, I will just take a nice Pentium D . Also DVD R-W drive, and try to keep it upgradeable. Also, if you could, make it Vista capable, so that it can be upgraded to the lastest OS after most of the bugs are worked out etc. I am looking to keep it at about $700 because I am trying to keep it under $1000 with Tax and Shipping. I would select the parts myself, but last time I tried that all my parts were incompatible and diddn't want to work together, so other people ended up picking out the parts for me, lol I live in Canada, so Newegg doesn't work for me, so I would perfer that all parts came from www.tigerdirect.ca Thanks a LOT! Merged Post: Oh ya, I forgot to ask.. What about fans? I need some suggestions on that also, as nobody ever talks about what fans to buy so I'm left out in the cold.
Shipping won't be $300, just letting you know. And also, once you say Gaming, you can stop there. If a computer can play Oblivion on max settings, it can surely Browse the Web. Give me a minute to throw some ---- together. PS- I might use NCIX.com for some things, as there prices are better in some caes. Merged Post: ps- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Conroe Merged Post: Oh yeah. 975X motherboards are gonna cost a fortune in Canada, you may want to hold off for a bit to let the prices come down before buying.
Hmm.. Yeah.. I may have alotted a bit too much for shipping LOL. And OK, I'll just get a normal board, LOL. With a Pentium D, or it's AMD counterpart, I assume? Thanks a lot for your help John Merged Post: And using NCIX.com is good too. As long as the prices are good and it ships to Canada. P.S. I wonder if there is any talk going on at Newegg about shipping to Canada.. hmm. Merged Post: BTW, you can go above 700 if you think that Shipping won't cost $300, lol. IDK how much it will cost, so hopefully you have an idea, cause I don't lol
You could probably go with like an AM-2 setup right now.. with like the cheapest Athlon 64, then upgrade around christmas. That is always a choice. The AM-2 boards are much cheaper, too.
Hmmm.. I'm not sure I want to buy an extra processor, my dad would get pissed, plus, he probably woulden't want to fork out the extra cash, LOL. I think I'll probably just get the Pentium D.. save me a few bucks, lol.

that isnt a bad build, but it's way to expensive. Merged Post: CPU: (Around $200) Intel Core 2 Duo E'6300 Motherboard: ($265) ASUS P5WD2 Premium (I'm assuming that pricetag means it has like the greatest OCing capabilities ever.) http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...anufacture=ASUS RAM: ($195) OCZ Gold EL PC2-6400 2x 1GB http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...CZ%20Technology Graphics Card: ($185) eVGA GeForce 7600 GT Overclocked 700//1500 (This is a great buy, it is only $30 more then Newegg's models, but this one is already Factory Overclocked.) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...&Tab=2&NoMapp=0 Hard Drive: ($79) Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM SATA http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...facture=Seagate CD/DVD Drives: ($44) NEC CD\DVD R-RW http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...1649374&CatId=0 Tada! Total: $968 (without shipping) Prices will drop on the motherboard (hopefully) when more come out. Just hope that the Core 2 Duo E'6300 is around $200.
Lol read the name ^_^ And thanks John, I'll take a look. So when Core 2 Duos come out, all I have to do is buy one? And this Motherboard is compatible with it? Along with everything else? I'll look at cases etc, and post here to see if its compatible. Another question, about the Mobo... It says in the "Specications" that it comes with a "-Intel LGA775 Pentium 4/ Celeron CPU" AND a "Pentuim Processor Extreme Edition/ Pentium D" so I'm confused.. There are 2 processors already included on the board?
Specifications? No, it doesnt come with 2 processors Those are just the ones that it supports. It would have Core 2 Duo under the list, except they aren't out yet.
Oh lol.. ya, I should have thought of that. And the Conroe E6300 will be priced at about $224 American, I assume, which will be more Canadian, meaning it will be about $254 Canadian. Poop. Maybe I can get a good deal, LOL. Merged Post: So.. would this http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/Sea...&Tab=0&NoMapp=0 be the same as this http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...anufacture=eVGA , the latter being cheaper? Of is the first one Overclocked, making it better? The motherboard is also available in Open Box, should I get that? Its like $30 cheaper and there is 3 available.
Anyone else gonna comment? I'd like to see what other people have to say about the setup John gave me.
Yes, they are the same. Except that the one from tigerdirect is factory overclocked. After a mail in rebate, the one from ncix is cheaper, and it is really easy to overclock graphics cards. so if that mail-in rebate is still there when yuo want to buy, go for it.
