Hm. So is it a pop-up?
If so, what site are you finding it at?

loks sorta like a prob my mate had, it may be smitfraud. download and run ewido antimalware once the first warning comes up check the use on all box and click yes/remove button. reboot your system and run again in safemode (just to clean up the running parts of the file) then reboot in normal mode. post when your finished and tell me if it has cleared up the problem

*safemode: press f8 just before the windows splash screen and select safe mode

EDIT: i've done a lil reserch on the exe and it says its a auto replicating manually installed security risk, can you think of any dodgy programs you have installed recently? (its a common one with new versions of iMesh and Bearshare)

Hmm.. Ewido appears to come from the makers of AVG Antivirus.. or is affiliated with them, because the download server is Grisoft, the makers of AVG..

    I'm downloading Ewido now..

And BTW, I had those popups before too, it went on for about 6 months, and then I discovered StopZilla and haven't had one since. Google it. Its great.

Sometimes spyware use system restor as a way of coming back i think. uncheck system restore run in safe mode delete the whole lot that you have been deleting before then run your computer normal again then turn on system restore again :shaggy:

I've had a look through Calibres log and 90% of the infections were firefox's cookies that the other cleaners had completely missed. I would always recommend ewido if you want a thorough system scan it takes alot longer than other cleaners like spybot and ad-aware, but as you can see it does the job :). There was also a replicating downloader that would create a new copy everytime you started windows, if you have anything like this its best to turn off system restore before you start scanning as it may be holding the replication files

:shaggy: smiley shaggy says: "stay off the dodgy porn sites kids!"
