Okay I have a Compaq Presario V2000 Notebook. And I had it on last night and the sound was working fine. Then I reformatted it to remove all the crap off of it and now the sound doesn't work. I don't have the CD's for the laptop at hand.. So I was wondering if there is a way where I can get the sound to work without a CD or whatever. Thanks for the help.
intresting did u disable somthing try checking out hp u can download drivers for ur compaq there hope this works
See I went to the site and I found the model and such and when I tried to install the driver it says FAILURE. So I'm guessing I did something wrong, or the laptop isn't picking up the sound card... I don't know what to do, this is one thing that I'm totally stumped on.
is it ingraded to the mobo u might of deteted the driver or somthing i dont know much about laptops just trying to help
Yes, it is in the laptop it's not external. But when I reformatted I'm guessing it deleted the installed software for it... So I don't know what the hell to do... I'm trying to get a hold of my friend who has the CD's but I want to see if I can do it without them... Which is why I need help on finding the drivers for it...
ok try this dont know it might work if ur on XP go to start > control panel > sounds and audio ex of my screen
Yeah, when I open that up I don't see a sound card there.. Just everything else but the sound card... But I don't understand why it's not showing up... It's in the laptop wouldn't it auto detect it? This is really making my brain work hahaha, which isn't a bad thing.
