First off if you don't know about piercings, don't bother posting. Right i had my helix(top of the ear) pierced last week and its still swollen up, i find it difficult to move the piercing as my ear is still as sore as it was the day i got it pierced mabye even worse, there is also a scab that has formed on the ring itself and not the ear and i cant pick it off to remove it and im pulling the piercing down which is cause my swollen ear to hurt, i just want to know should it still be swollen after a week, i am cleaning it 3times a day and moving the piercing about at each time to to stop it healing. Heres a pictures of it as i typed this topic(sorry its blurred, camera is fuxed): http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/8640/dscf0700mz3.jpg
http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Helix_Piercing Check the risks at the bottom and see if any apply. What I think is you should take it out momentarially ( sorry, bad spelling ), and see if theres puss. This usually means its infected and you should treat it.
Wooa. Well i had my bottom ear peirced but then i took it out. i didnt like it. And hope your ear feels better dude.
best thing to do majin is go to your doctor or back to the piercing shop for advice i had a simular problem when i had my toung pierced... what happened was i had a small ball of flesh which had formed under my toung where the silver ball sat turned out to be just scar tissue and went after a few days but id get it checked out ASAP just to put your mind at rest and to prevent the infection from becomming worse
this may sound stupid but go2 gurl.com lol it has peircing advice. and my sister went there when she got her peircing and she saw a section for helix. So well you can gothere and they have info
also your ear may just be reacting to the type of metal the ear ring is made from, some piercers give out really snide jewellry with piercing which ppl can hav a reaction too? maybe this has happened in your case, but id advise like evryone else had gone, seek advice from your doctor or from the parlour u had it done to make sure its all part of the process...
