sytem you had on default isn't bad given the budget restraints... again as was said, only use 1 DIMM of ram, socket A does nto support running memory in dual channel so no reason to bother... i don't know about that particular board, but I hear on the AMD forums that ePox was one fo the most prefered manufacturers. it has a via chipset though, so overclocking will be limited(not like it matters with that PSU)
default system? im keeping my current if thats what ur saying ya i just noticed it dont have duel channel
i decided on this Barebone Kit - Foxconn TLM454R3M6-C350 AMD Socket A(462) AMD Athlon XP/Sempron SiS 741 2x 184Pin SiS Mirage Barebone http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16856119002 $70.99 Hard Drive - Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JB 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822144122 $42.99 Hard Drive Power Cable - AMC CSA-6 6" SATA Power Adapter, (15-Pin) to Power Supply (4-Pin) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16812105409 $2.99 Hard Drive Cable - GENERIC 24" IDE ATA 100/ 66 3-Connector Flat Cable Model 21AT-10124 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16812104112 $2.99 DVD-Rom - LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM ATAPI/E-IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model SHD-16P1S http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16827106028 $16.99 CD-Rom Drive - SONY Black 52X CD-ROM IDE CD-ROM Drive Model CDU5225 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16827101134 $13.99 RAM - G.SKILL 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) System Memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231029 $42.99 Total: $233.00 shipping was added.
Um... Why don't you get a CD/DVD R-RW instead of two seprate? After adding those prices... $17+$14 = $31 (plus 2x shipping), a NEC CD/DVD R-RW is $30. Merged Post: Anyway, nice job. Not a bad deal on such a cheap computer.
thats all good. you should just get the single dvd drive and you dont need this - Hard Drive Power Cable - AMC CSA-6 6" SATA Power Adapter, (15-Pin) to Power Supply (4-Pin) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16812105409 $2.99
