Everest is okay, but I suggest if you want to let us know what you have, get CPU Z (www.cpuid.com), and open it up like 4 times and let it show every tab and then make a screenshot of it. :)

Well when I originally purchased my pc it was just so I could make 2d pc games and have internet, but since I like to draw and am very good at it I started to do pixel art and then got into renders/sigmaking, and baught halo for pc. I started to really get into pc gaming but when i got Battlefield 2 and started it up my screen flashed black for a sec and went away, so i went to the ea forums and asked why it wouldnt run, gavw my specs, and was told my gfx card is integrated into my motherbuard and is so crappy it cant even run the game. So here I am trying to find out if I have to buy a new gfx card or a new motherboard and card both. I really dont want that ;( . Im friggin broke!

you'll also need another half gig of ram...

and check CPUz and/or tell us which motherboard you have as we need to know if you have an AGP port or a PCI-e port.

I'd suggest working towards a whole new computer. That Celeron isn't helping much, nor is the 256 MB RAM. Nothing in that system shows that it is for gaming.

Anyone know of a cheap ($700 or lower) computer that could run games with a little more ease? I never realized how bad this computer really is. It has an awesome gfx display for everything excep for 3d games and my processor was able to instal battlefeild 1942 (both disks) in under five minutes, when my friends pc built for gaming took over an hour. The strange thing was that Bf 1942 runs on my pc but not Bf 2. So any info on a fairly good pc with gaming capabilities would be nice. I would just go google it or search a pc store but allot of "top of the line gaming consoles I have seen really suck, or they came with the bare minimum and needed to be upgraded from temporary hardware to full time stuff, so I dont want to go out blindly and accidentally buy a peice of crap.

This is why there is a Computing section... for us to build you a custom one.

BF2 is RAM hungry... it forced a lot of people to upgrade to 2GB(2048mb) of ram. 512mb of ram is the absolute bare minimum for BF2 with everything turned way low, 1GB is ok, 1.5 or 2GB prefered. BF2 is also vRAM hungry 128MB of vRAM is the min.

Celeron D=Pentium 4 with 1/8th the l2 cache... which means a lot more cache misses which means... a huge performance hit. Expect that Celeron D to be comapreable to a 2.4GHz northwood P4

Meh, it's gotta be worse then a 2.4 Ghz northwood. They both use netburst. What are celeron's FSB? I dont keep up to date on it.
