I am not saying that Isreali doesnt have a right to defend it self. I am saying that America's supprt to Isreali defending it self is completely obsurred because when Palestine tries to defend them selvels it is considered "terroirsm" becuuse they kill inoocent civilans but when Isreali does NIGHTLY raids and bombing every night for the past 50 years and usually ONLY kills inoocent civilans, they arent labeled as terroirst attacks. That is bs.

Where is the proof? You've said that Israel directly targets civilians. That's where you go wrong. The Israelis target terrorists (you know, the guys in the masks with the AKs shouting "DEATH TO ISRAEL" the guy in the pickup truck with a few rockets that he intends to shoot into some Israeli town.) directly. However, it's simple math to figure out that a bomb landing on said terrorist's home is probably going to wound or even kill civilians if they are present. If they are present, that usually (by usually, about 90% of the time) means that they're providing aid or housing to said terrorist, effectively becoming acomplices. However, this is not always the case. What seperates the Israeli military from terrorists is the fact that they directly target terrorists, those aiding terrorists, and the infastructure supporting them. Those are all legitimate military targets in anybody's book. The terrorists on the other hand intend to shoot a few rockets into Haifa, usually at a residential district. Last time I checked, a civilian who is in no way involved in the fighting's house was not a valid military target. The Palestinian civilians happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time if they were bombed. The Israelis aren't directly targeting them. The terrorists on the other hand are usually targeting residential areas or places where there is no real military target. That means that they're attacking civilians, not the military. That also makes them terrorists, simply because they're trying to terrorize the civilian population.

Actually she was coming home from school, no weapons, no nothing, probably the soldiers were betting to see who could shoot the best.

    Shows how much you know.

Yeah close this topic, it burns me up to see how ignorant some people are these days.

Its apparent there are a lot of political and cultural factors that people are using in their posts. I understand that people are saying that Western media is putting a bad name on Arabic influences like Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. I also understand where people are saying that the term 'terrorist' is very blatant and can be warped to anyone' s judgement or jurisdiction.

Terrorism is defined by Merriam-Webster as "the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion", it doesnt say if the beings are justified or not in their efforts. A soldier could even be a terrorist, look at the US' role in the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam. The views of Hezbollah and the Hamas is that they are terrorists and that they are evil, at least in the eyes of the Western politics. This is clearly coming of the gist that nations with anti-capitalist regimes like Iran with the Ayatollah and so forth are the root of all evil. It also comes to mind because past events like 9/11 have been pinned on the stereotypes of Islamic rebels like the Palestinians or the theocratic supporters in Iran.

Realize that I am not saying that the things that these rebels and extremists are doing is justified. I am saying is that one man' s terrorist could be another man' s martyr. Take for example the soldiers that killed in My Lai during the Vietnam War, or even the soldiers that killed civillians in Haditha during the Iraq War: though they killed lives, many that might have been innocent, they come home and find that some called them heros, many called them evil. The same is with these extremists, for their are only the conservative side. Many Middle Eastersn do not support them in their little jihad, and only wish for peace.

Socrates, one of the wisest men in human history, said that "there is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance." This proves to be true, for we cannot always know everything, but yet we continue to be ignorant. People say its some nation' s fault, but what do we know? Are we the all-seeing eye? Were we there when Israel was given its land and Palestine revolted? Now that our already confused vision is blinded by war, we side with the only people that the US can relate to: Israel. Why? Do we not help make Israel' s weapons? Do we not pay millions of dollars to them every year? Lastly, do we not share a common enemy - the Islamic extremist? The US only is justified to saying that they are evil because they oppose us, but we are not God - we are not the people to decide who is the true terrorist.

The statement I made simply states that a child with a gun is just as dangerous an adult with a gun. Nowhere in there does it condone child murder. That's your idiotic perceptions.

Was I aware of this? No. In fact, I had never even read of that. All I read was that she was shot because she was deemed a "threat." Do I approve of the murder of a child? No, absolutely not. However, he used the word "threat," which leads me to believe that the soldiers considered her a threat (IE threat to their life, which is where the "10-year-old with an AK" statement came from). Give more information, as I'm not going to look through hundreds of articles from a few years ago to find this exact incident. So yes, it does "show how much I know." It also shows how you can twist words so much and put others in my mouth. I reply to what is put in front of me. Use of "10-year-old child" and "threat" in the same sentence leads me to believe that said child was considered a threat and as such, taken out. You're the one that put "I approve of the murder of an innocent child" in my mouth. That's your doing, not mine.

    Merged Post:

Well, I did some research. This is an article from November of 2004.

In bold, is that the incident that you are talking about? Because from reading the article, I read that a girl was shot dead on suspicion of carrying explosives. It is not very descriptive of the actual shooting, but of the events after, those are immoral, wrong, and above all, sick.

From subsequent articles that I read, reports of the actual shooting conflict. Some say she was shot dead as she stood in line at a schoolyard. Others say she approached the soldier's post, leading them to believe that she was a suicide bomber. I will not make judgement on the shooting; I was not there, I do not know what happened. I cannot get a straight answer from these articles of the initial shooting, but I will say that the conduct afterwards (emptying the rifle's magazine into the girl's body) was disturbing, wrong, sick, immoral, and a whole slew of other things.

Good ferret you brought up evidence to see why Hamas attacks Isreali. Do some more research and you will see the other attacks on innocent Palsetines and I know this story and I have seen the storys and the majoreity of them say she was in line at school.

Good. Now, why was Israel in Gaza/West Bank in the first place? Explain. They have not been there in 1948-9 when they were formed. They didn't occupy the area until 1967. They withdrew/re-occupied a number of times since then. Why did they have to re-occupy these areas? I'm sure that the areas being used as a staging point for terrorist attacks didn't have anything to do with it. This particular incident was used as an excuse for Hamas to lob a few mortar shells over the border. By the way, Hamas has attacked the Israelis a number of times since they withdrew from the territories (Gaza/West Bank) in 2005 (the most recent). They went across the border, shot two soldiers and kidnapped a third. Did an Israeli go across the border and shoot a schoolgirl then? I don't think so, but you claim that they did, along with bombing people's homes by night.

Here's an article that I find very relevant.

That's a pretty objective analysis of Israeli history. As far as I know, Hamas/Hezbollah want Israel out of the territories (Gaza/West Bank). They've complied. Why did they attack again? Israel has been out of the territories for months and yet they felt the need to start it up again.

That says it all in my opinion. By the way, the pic is not stereotyping Muslims; don't jump on my case about it. It's a drawing of the Hezbollah leader Nasrallah.

At the moment, Ferret is the only one talking sence.

Anyway, Isreal are attacking stratigicall points or hezbollah strongholds. If hezbollah use a civilian house as a stronghold, why not blow it up ?
Secondly, Isreal are trying to attack terrorists, guess what hezbollah do, they just fire 80 rockets into Isreali civilians..

And Machiavelli X, Answer me this :

2 hamas members blow themselves up in a bus full of inocent Israeli civilians. 15 people die.
The next day, Israel fires 2 missiles at a car full of rockets, but, sadly, only 2 hamas members die and 5 civilians die because they were next to the car.

Is that wrong according to you ?

Or, should the Isreali forces let the hamas members fire rockets at them ?

    ------------------

According to you, Isreal are killing Palistina civilians.. and your sollution would be to blow yourself up and kill Isreali civilians ? You are the hypocrite in that case.

i have to replay to this , first of all , israel blows up random houses , yes random houses , and dont tell me it isnt true

they kill 10's a day , all of them are random people , thin from time to time , suicide bombers blow them selves up in a bus , and those who die in that bus are no where close to 1/10 of the ones israeli soldiers kill and certainly the damage is 100x times less and thats just a response they do every ones in a while after days and days of killing slaying and blowing up houses with people inside them , normal people

your talking as if what israel does is a respond to what palestein does , well guess what , what palestein does a just a little response to what israel does and it does no damage compared to what THEY do
