AKW, at those settings, you're CPU limited. also not that impressive considering how at 11*9 with the same settings(except for 4X AA) I got 140 on a 7800GT... This is my view... on stock nvidia typically wins... after overclocking... ATI takes the crown, and then some... Also, i find that ATi tends to price their products more competatively. Though bang/$ the 7950GX beats the x1900XTX(not that it matters, pretty much everything is maxed by an x1800XT or 7900GT) my next card will likely be R600, only reason I'd buy a nvidia card(like my former 7800GT) is for linux support.

nvidia even though I haven't use an ATI. For those people that aren't that smart make sure you turn ur antialising, anisotropic, and vertical sync when having all of those on its pointless if you don't.
I personally prefer the ATI. I'm saving up for the 1900 right now, but to tell the truth, I've never bought an nVidia, except for when I got one that was integrated on my motherboard.
Eh.. it's all about preference. Kinda like some people prefer Intel where as others prefer AMD. Personally I like nVIDIA because the software that came with it (can't remember the name) was much easier to use than ATi's Catalyst software. I tried an ATi card at first, but it the Catalyst software wouldn't install on my computer so I returned the card and got a nVIDIA GeForce 5500 (I know it's low-end, I don't game) and it installed perfectly.
anyone who says turn of vsynch is an idiot. vsynch limits your GFX cards output rate to maatch the vertical refresh rate of your monitor. if your monitor redraws iutself 75 times a second and you get 100FPS, 25 frames are going to waste and all your frames are slightly off. Vsynch fixes that by setting a cap. It is easier on your hardware and nets better real worl performance. The only times where you would want to disable it are during benchmarking or if it causes issues. and to the idiot who compared this to AMD vs Intel, you need some research. for the last decade AMD has been in the lead with the exception of the golden era of Northwood. as of the Last 3 years, Intel fell further and further behind using a design it now admits is inferior. All those who prefered intel's netburst processors will have a foot shoved up their asses in the next week or so when Core 2 is out and Netburst is officially slated out. With nvidia vs. Ati it has always been neck and neck(with the exception of the fx series) with neither side abel to declare a descisive win. With AMD vs. Intel, the margins have been greater with everything pre k7 being trampled on, the k7 coming and more or less obliterating during a time intel had quality control issues, then going on to defeat the netburst architecture until the northwood revision was out, where intel truely dominated. Then k8 came out and it beat northwood, prescott came to attempt to fix that but did nothing seeing as northwood outperformed it clock/clock and it didn't scale up well. Then intel released some horible abomination known as conrtoe which is everything meshed together and it seems to work really well, so well that it is just king. With CPUs, the winner has more or less always been obvious. The time I woudl say it was closest would by k7 vs. coppermine, both were neck and neck, performance/clock being mroe ro less identical, but k7 OCed much better and was typically cheaper due to poor batch yields on coppermine.
