How: Sun dies (blows up) When: No Idea Matter: Nope, as long as not in my lifetime - might get a bad sunburn
The world will end a little over 8 minutes after the sun stops shining/implodes/explodes or whatever. There is also a blackhole heading for Earth but that won't reach us for 200 million years or something like that. One of those two is when the world will end. You never know, maybe Star Wars will come true and we start invading planets and what not in different galaxies.

Well hopefully the giant brains don't get any technology from Star Wars, then we'd really be screwed.
