A news channel got some lip readers, and they said Matarazzi said something like he hopes he and his mother dies (remember, Zidane found out that day that he mother was dangerously ill). Another news channel said that Matarazzi called him a "dirty terrorist" (Zidane has lots of Algerian blood).

As far as im concerned what zidane did didnt ruin his reputation, he put up a stand, and thats respectful. watch him in some other games and see all the times he gets disrespected on the field in illegal ways by soccer rules and nothing happens. stupid italian said something offensive and he gets the consequence for it, a headbutt to the chest that knocks him off his feet. if anything its brining more spectators to the sport since it could potentially turn up the heat and make things a little more aggressive and fun to watch for the current non-spectators (like myself, and a majority of america).
