ok ill give you proof the God exists: The bible, the bible is so old how didnt it turn into dust? becuase God mate God.

In the old testament it said that Gods bones will never be broken so the disciples didnt know that buttt when jesus was geting crusified he was nearly dead but not completely until a soldier came with an hammer tryuign to brake jesus bones but then there was an earth quake so the soldier couldnt brake his bones but they stabed him with a spear. How did they write that in the new testament?

jonah and the whale: you're telling me a normal man was swallowed by a whale and he lived inside of it for three days? come on now

noah and the ark: one man went out and gathered 2 of every animal and kept em on one boat with enough food and water for 40 days of rain. then, to restock the human population there would have to be incest which is immoral in god's eyes.

rainbow theory: so after the flood god created rainbows as his covenant to man that he wont flood the earth again. well, that means he had to change the physics of all water, light, and air on the planet to allow rainbows to show cause they didnt exist up until then according to the bible.

- god created me to be the way i am so the fact that i dont believe in him is his fault, why does he get to send me to hell for that?

- if we are all created in god's image, why dont we all look like jesus?

- how many religions are there again? it's like the lottery but your soul is at stake.

- religion is based on the fear of what happens after we die. im not scared of death.

Thats not proof mate, there are loads of other explanations for that (and I didnt think there was still THE bible around...) And the thing about the bones how do you know its true? Just because it was wrote does not mean its true.

Dont want to break anyones feelings but it just doesnt make sense, but all god/no god arguments make no sense, so im just going to shut up now and say it does not matter how we were created as long as we are here and enjoying life :tongue:

the point is, that most people cannot prove one view or another in an acceptable method. It's akey to the evolution debate. One groups says 'science' says this, the other says that's circular reasoning, is flawed fundamentally and is based on out of date evidence and contains contradictions within the theory itself.

to many the truth is relative and the reality is outside their experience and range of comfort.

 

There is only one flaw in the religious argument...Science can be explained. God cannot.

 

that's the statement is same flaw against the science arguement, it can be disproved, for each article of evidence for almost any theory there are 100 contradicting statements.

When was the last time you looked into the accuracy of carbondating, dating sedimentary layers by reference fossils(and dating reference fossils by the layer they are in, see circular reasoning), and practical exceptions to more or less everything. Even elementery and proven things such as the Newtonian Laws of Physics are applicable to this, there is simply no enviroment where all variable are removed save for the one in question - there is no such thing as an isolated system.

The higher you go into science the more you see that what you learned in high school is irrelevant. Atheism is ignorance and stupidity, Agnosticism is acceptance of non-omnipotence.

All of you guys defending your 'faith' and flaming over listening and discussing and not giving us any examples except those from a book which is published to sway peoples' views on God: Have you ever even remotely considered looking at other religions, how can you have full hearted faith in one side without hearing the other sides of an argument?

I personally go around, practicing and reading as many other religions and religious scriptures as I possibly can collecting the views from everyone and form my own centralist view of the religions, I believe there is a god, but I dont believe in the christian God (note the capitalization throughout the document on the word 'God') and I have searched through NUMEROUS religions, some diverse (a few local beliefs some kids have made up absed on doing what im doing), some mainstream (Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Mormon, Muslim, etc.), and some mal-thought of (such as Satanist, Pagan and Wiccan) religions.

Before you come back to rebuttle my post, think of what you are saying, dont bring a book that is used to persuade the views of humans to reflect the righteousness that is God, as its one sided. Research your religions before giving your full hearted faith to one, I dont mind if you want to be a christian, I just like to be able to carry on an intellegent, multi-religious conversation with someone who isnt ignorant to the subjects of other religions, or general beliefs...

Although science is a large number of previously established facts, it is also an ongoing activity, a process. Was anyone there when it started? No. Both Evolution and Creation are faith-based.

 

knowledge is gained over time, not up front, which is what science is based off of, knowledge.

There is not a single thing that is 100% certain in the universe, just things that have peoven themselves enough times to be considered flawless logic, also known as fact. Faith is not faith unless there is no factual basis around (imo). Knowing even a single fact completely negates "faith", its more of a relativity than a faith then.

There are things that contridict each other on both subjects science and religion. the fact is people have their own views and this shouldnt have been turned into a flame war a mod should close this. religion is not a good topic to discuss on the internet, end of story
