New Dvd Drive Help!

    Hey, first time ive tryed putting in a new drive, Ive plugged in the new drive, its inside the comp now and thats it, it does nothing


    When i turn comp on, nothing comes up about found new hardware and it wont open,

    What have i done wrong?

    Theres on wire in it, A thin one, its about 2 inch across

    and do i need to put one of these on to it? [​IMG]

    you need a 40-pin EIDE cable plugged into it, plus fig 1.7 is needed..

    Yup i have the 40-pin EIDE cable connected, not the other though, thanks ill try later

    umm... the other one is the power cable...

    try disconnecting the electrcity from your coputer and see if ti turns on
    heh


    yeh it's easy to fix, just connect the molex plug.
