I read somewhere that Intel sacrifices FSB speeds to obtain higher clock ratings, while AMD keeps their FSB's high in their processors and obtains lower clock ratings. I'm still going to stick with AMD, go underdogs.
what you just said is entirely irrelevent and innacurate. going from 333mhz FSB to 400mhz yeielded the athlon XPs almost nill performance gain. Current AMD processors aern't even on the FSB system anymore. While the HTT system they are on offers a significant increase in bandwidth, the fact that it is full duplex as opposed to half duplex is mroe importance, as are other optimizations which reduce latencies. Also, the p4s FSB is quad pumped while the athlon XPs FSB was only double pumped, P4s mroe or less have always had an FSB 150-200% higher than the athlon XPs or their rpedecessors. again, as I have said before, fanboyism is stupid. I think intel is a vicious vile ------- company guilty of violating antitrust laws and being an ass on the whole, but that doesn't stop me from buying from them if they are the better deal and conroe will be...
Well I also like AMD because I found them to be cheaper. For the P4 equivilent it would have cost me another 50 bucks or so. Also i'm not that big of a fanboy, as this is only my second AMD machine, and I grew up on a P4 run family computer. Only reason this one is better is that it has kick ass video card and more RAM.
