I personally have a 3.2 ghz intel pentium 4 ht processor, and im damn happy with it. It dosent get too hot, and has lasted for over a year. Now i see alot of people shouting amd is better, but have no idea why or if its even tru. So why is AMD better than intel? ersonally ive never had an amd, but i hear theyre good.... kinda..
Well ... you see ... AMD gets way better performance at a lower clockspeed ... for example ... an AMD FX-62 is @ 2.8 GHz ... yet ... it can still outperform an Intel Extreme Edition 965 @ 3.73 GHz ... and almost every AMD dual core processor can outperform it in gaming. I wish that I didn't have an Intel 3.0 GHz w/ HT ... but thats just me Plus ... AMD processors do run alot cooler than Intels ... but the new Intel Core2 processors are quite a bit faster than AMD's current processors ... but they aren't out yet. http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/intel_...roe_benchmarks/
Oh, Xelink.... *summons him here* yes, AMDs outperform P4 Intels by quite a bit. But in a short time, the Intel Conroes will come out, and they will literaly rob AMD until their K8's come out... So it's a constant battle, just like ATI and Nvidia... their fanboys will always say one is better than another..
lolz - Xelink not here yet B) Dam - His expertise knowledge undeniable Anyways summed my post out - Personaly I got a AMD works perfect - Never had a Intel - DarkStar
K8 is the new line of AMD's processors.. its based off the AM2, i think.. And, Dark, I learn from the best, such as Xelink himself... btw... it takes awhile for Xelink to get the message... you know, you have to go east a couple thousand miles to reach him...
