No, power source is no, there aren't 12V rails Like (Someone) said, get the X800GTO because not long from now the X1900s next step up card will be coming soon Case is fine Sata or SATA II if possible, 3.0gb/s
sorry, it's 450W... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817101513 my bad... should be just as good as the 500W one for your purpose. for the record, epower and Tagan are one in the same... x800GTO is as low as 103$ after rebate...(the one at $95 has significantly slower vRAM) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814103172 the case you chose is acceptable. Go SATA, SATA drivers are marginally cheaper, and it leaves more options open for eIDE devices later on. on your motherboard, if you want, you could trim some off with this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813138027 it's an acceptable board and if it's anything like the 754 or 939 versions it should OC very well(given the price) and it has accpetable features. still sayin "wait for/get conroe" but AM2 leaves you with the potential option of getting k8L
Sweet, thanks for the advice. Now for the motherboard, BreakOut says a 939 processor won't work with an AM2 mobo? I'm not really sure what it is, heh.
you need the proper motherbloard socket, only 939 boards work w/ 939 procs, only am2 board work w/ am2 procs etc. edit: i thought you were getting am2, am2 is newer... performance is about the same, though it will have support for a bit longer. won't be future proof(no such thing), but it won't be as vulnerable to obsolecence
Get this ram if the build in beginning is what you plan to get. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820145450
Ahh, I see, in that case I could use this processor instead... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103735 Merged Post: xelink, i'm planning to get that mobo you suggested instead, but then i need ddr2 memory. it says ddr2 800... can i use like ddr2 667 instead, or is that not compatible? edit: updated everything, just need to decide on RAM now.
