Gfx Card Question

    i have a ati radeon x1600 pro 512 mb.
    when i render in c4d it takes hours.is there any way i can optimize it where it will render faster.

    Wouldn't the slowness be because of your RAM / processor speed then? Because it seems like you have a good graphics card.

    well im runnign 4 gigs ram and i have a amd 3500+

    as long as your motherboard can handle it.

    pehaps your just trying to render at a really high quality ?

    well rendering does tend to take a while...

    I've heard professionals who do 3d rendering opt for specialized GFX cards specifically for 3d rendering.

    Also, why did you waste your money for the 512mb model when the 128mb model costs less and performs more or less the same.

    yea rendering always takes a whle depends on how big the picture is. There isn't any way to make it faster except make it have less quality

    i got my card for cheap...it was only like 120

    Yes.... look at Crucial RAM, they make 2GB sticks. Also, 4 Dual channel 1GB = 4. So, there are ways to have that, or 8GB for 4x 2.
