Segregation was once ruled on by Congress...seven times before being turned?

Well said Atreyu, though i believe anyone who chooses to fight for his/her country(and had the right to choose if they fought or not) is a hero. Their helping preserve the very foundation of that said country.

We had a homework assignment on this issue a few months ago. I think that it should stay illegal to burn the U.S. Flag. Why would you even want to burn it?

i think that the american government has other things to worry about other than burning flags

ill admit it disrespects the country, but there are more important issues to spend our time on

why would anyone want to do that to the flag in the first place? everyone celebrates the 4th of July, and other national holidays. So, why would you brun a flag?

I think, out of respect, it should be illegal to burn the flag. Think of what the guys during WW2 sacrificed so we could have free speech.. do you know how much the sight of a single american flag flying on the battlefield meant to them? on Iwo Jima, when the flag was raised, every american on the island saw it.. and every one of them stood up and cheered, despite the vollies of japaneese fire.. Out of respect for our veterans then, leave the flag untarnished.

its rediculous and I'm compltely against it. Especially if your American. Why would you burn something that represents where you live and what protects you. Sure it may be a way to "express" yourself, but your a dumbass if you do. It shows a lack of repsect for your nation and the people that fought to keep and uphold freedom. If you think burning the flag is a good thing because you hate America, then I suggest you go live in Africa for a year and IF you survive, I think your opinion will be changed.

(That wasn't meant to disrespect any Africans, I was simply talking about some of the governments that kill their own people)
