Yes, dell sux ass Merged Post: xelink i posted what u said bout the motherboards and stuff also. its funny
I didnt even know dell had forums... But the real, question is, who the hell would even want to hang around dell forums?
Indeed What the hell is eIDE, FSB, AGP, OEM and all that crap? Well the topic said it all, I had a dell, and one day the computer monitor showed a purple screen, and then my monitor broke ;( along with the computer. And I got another dell, and it's on it's road down to being destroyed as well.
I got reply's to all 3 threads Thread 1 reply's Either you remove the offensive words or the Moderator will remove the post and you'll be barred from posting on the forum again. You're entitled to your opinions, good-bad-ugly, but the terms of use of this forum require that you maintain a higher standard than you've used in your post. Ron ---------- Sir or madam, your rant is ineffectual and offensive. If you have a complaint, and obviously you do, why don't you make an attempt to post it in at least a marginally effective way. You might have a chance of getting some help with whatever your problem is. The posters here are quite intelligent, knowledgeable, and eager to render whatever technical assistance you might need. But I suspect you don't really want any assistance, do you? Aren't you really just a spotty little potty-mouthed troll, trying ever so hard to shock people? ---------- Thread 2 Sorry, but you're out of luck. Dell BIOS doesn't allow you to change those settings. There have been some claims of hacks to do it, but I've never seen proof that they actually work, and you would void your warranty. Try to return that memory or sell it on eBay and buy what's compatible with your system. A number of places offer RAM specifically for Dell systems and guarantee it'll work, so that's probably your best bet. Ron ---------- Your post reflects a youthful demeanor and is indicative of someone that is unsatisfied after a hardware upgrade. Well, you are not alone with that discontent as many of us have experienced those surprises as well. However, on a positive note, at least it didn't cost you anything personally as your post indicates that your uncle footed the entire bill. My advice would be to just chalk it up as a learning experience because its going to hurt "a whole lot more" when you have to start paying for things yourself. pent7301 ------- Thread 3 In response to this Dell uses the ----ties motherboards known to mankind, unbranded RAM(because if the company is unwilling to put it's name on it, it has to be good), generic low quality power supplies, and Pentium 4 based processors(which intel admits as being inferior to their competitors current product and even moreso than the upcoming Core 2 series) and for the record, most OEMs like, HP, eMachines etc. prevent overclocking also like Dell. They also use ---- components, just not as badly as Dell. if you want a real PC, go through voodoo or falcon NW they actually use quality parts... better yet build it yourself for 1/10h the price for a compareable product. also look at pricing, Dell sell directly and cuts out middle men, yet their products still manage to cost more... despite any quality diferences being more or less non existant. There is a reason why Dell makes more money than any other company... -------- Hello, Your question (if any) is not clearly understood. The subject of your post reads 'HELP"; however, your text in the associated message body does not reflect any need for assistance. In fact, you sound very knowledgable in the area of building your own PC and also where to obtain the necessary quality parts. At this point, I am just curious about your current self-built PC specs. and how much you saved (ball park figure) by building it yourself. Also, if you are so inclined, please provide any derived benefits (e.g., overclocking) that you have realized from same. gus82570 --- lol
Woah, they are sad, but well done flaming them, dell is ripping off people. I got one of there most expensive computers, and it still sucks.
FSB = Front side bus AGP = Accelerated Graphics Port OEM = Original Equiptment Manufacturer Dont remember what eIDE stood for, but IDE is an interface for connecting hardware, I assume eIDE is the same.
haha Ye Dell products just sux my both my testicles haha I just hated Dell because the quality they offer is crap - Their support is crap so started hating Better to make your own PC which you can change the way like it - But Nice and GJ BTK and Xelink Officially buds of mine B) [Xelink already is but BTK is added] Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics - I think thats what it is - OHNOES HES GETTING BANT - DarkStar
For what dells should be bought for they don't need to use HQ parts. Locking the bios to prevent OC'ing is probably a good thing as it'd prevent many uneccessary RMA's and tech support calls.
Flaming dell. Childish. It's not going to do ---- moron. Kay, so they don't sell the greatest computers. Dell's get the job done, since most people don't even understand your post here, why the ---- does half of that even matter? Honestly, that's pretty damn lame to flame a large companies forums. You aren't achieving anything. Lame.
My dad has a Dell he bought about 6 months ago and it sucks. It's way slower than mine which is a laptop and I bought it in 2002.
