Actually Emo originates from the 80's when "Emotive hardcore punk" bands first emerged, one of the most influential was Fugazi who more or less started it., and the bands you are thinking of class themselves as emo but are punk rock, so before you go running your mouth think first cos if you dont that does make you a retard.
