I have used this many times, I have even watched an A+ certified technition spend 2 hours trying to fix it with no success.

WARNING USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Step 1: Get to the Desktop with no programs or anything else open. Find and press the print screen button on your keyboard.

Step 2: Open MS Paint and paste the screenshot. Save it in My Pictures or somewhere you can easily find it.

Step 3: Find the image and set it as wallpaper.
Step 4: Hide all Icons except the Recycling Bin in some folder you can find it again in case you ever have to fix it.
Step 5: Right Click the Taskbar to make sure it is unlocked, and then drag it down.

Now you should already see the result. You have a whole bunch of unclickable icons, and an unclickable Taskbar and Start Button. This will drive people crazy, but if its your friend be sure to help them fix it. If its your enemy, screw him :P

hah that's even better than what I always did...

take a screen shot of the desktop, open paint, write on it yo've been hacked or somethign like that in large crappy latters, then adjust the screen so the outline is out of view...

    drives peopel insane

I saw someone do a similar trick with notepad. A funnier trick is coding a little program that pops up an error message with something like "Warning: Your computer has determined that you are a complete idiot. To confirm, click yes." And then when they go to click no a freaky zombie appears on their screen. Aww good times.. good times.

This has flaws, the time on the clock won't be accurate.

This is one OLD trick. But it works. If an A+ tech took a long time to figure THAT out he is not worthy. Because I would have dragged the cursor. Also, you don't drag the damn start bar down.. you end the process explorer... then recycle bin and all go away... you really need to learn how to do this the BEST way possible before posting. Also, the Windows button still works for the start menu. I would have it figured out in no time. <_<
