somehow overnight several problems have started on my pc, before you say anything i will say ive done: *ewido antimalware *spybot *ad-aware *spyware doctor *CA antivirus *and AVG scans I also have zone alarm pro firewall. The problems that have started are: 1.wmp doesn't work (internal application error) 2.search doesn't work, only the assistant isshown, no dialogue 3.system restore doesn't work 4.All .hta files don't work (genuine check etc) 5. javascript in IE doesn't work even though its turned on 6.no activex warnings are shown 7. I'm unable to log in to hotmail on ie, it just locks up on a blank page 8. winamp bombs out after playing 1 track what the hell is wrong!?!??! EDIT: windows media is working but only 6.4
defrag your pc? just do it before you go to bed...... a good defrag goes a long way Edit.... sorry for some reason i didn't even see problems you posted.. i only read what you did.... wow that's strange man.. not sure what to tell you... all of them found nothing eh? very strange...
windows media upgradeed: same error ie upgrade failed: unknown error winamp: already upto date the repair install is out of the question as I don't have the windows disks, so i'm guessing, i'm a little bit screwed ;( Merged Post: when trying to play videos on the net i get the warning "cannot create direct show player" and all I get is the sound, no video
but dont you need your origional key for that? If you dont even have that, then i think youre damned..
if your in xp, just do a system restore, its simple start>all programs>accessories>system tools> system restore this will take you through the proccess, you pick a time you want to go back to, and it does it, if you did any work after the time you want to go to, then put it on a flash drive, external harddrive, flopy disk, or cd cause realy, all that should not be like that, i dont see what the problem could be idk
