so far I've determined a few things... you haven't listened to anything on this part of the site. p4s are mroe or less absoltete... AGP is dead...

    on a low budget...

the crippled PD 805 is a much better deal than the cirppled p4,. it's essentially two of them, if not that then the a64 3500+ kills the cripled 2.6GHz p4 w/o HT

    x800GTO PCI-e, 20$ less

get this case/PSU better one the whole
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811129158

can't say anything bad about the ram, except that it won't be at that price within 24 hours...

don't buy case fans from newegg shipping costs mroe than the fan... and you won't be doing much OCing unless you get abetterboard

EDIT: opn the low end, furious' build is pretty good for a singel core system, other than the fact that the 3500+ sells for 109 on newegg right now...

and agp is not dead but dieing slowy.
and i really dont plan on overclocking.
and what do u mean by the ram wont be that price in 24 hours?

And I really don't see the point of getting the extra case fans or the rediculous 'vent', why not skip those and work on a better gpu/cpu/mobo for the system?

when k8l comes out or whatever, you should be able to upgrade there...

also you should be abel tog et some moderate overclocking in. you might be able tog et it to 2.7-8GHz without too much effort if you're lucky. (remember, athlons operate more efficiently at a given setting than a p4, so don't say it's only X ghz and this is Yghz i shoulda gotten Y, GHz are only accurate when comparing two of the exact same thing...)

another option is get a Pentium D 805 insteed. it won't be as upgradeable(conroe aka Core 2 isn't comaptabel with all but the highend motherboars) unless you swap out the motherboard later, but it's dual core and if you're lucky you should be able to push out around 4GHz(you'll need a decent moterhbaord for that though...) at which point it will game compareable to the 3500+ on stock and multitask and do most other things way better...

I would suggest 1x 512 MB, leaves it more upgradable if you happen to scrape up another $40 and you can make it 1 GB, which would be a relativly nice computer.
