So ya.. I got a bit of a problem. So, I know for most of you with huge harddrives, 600mb isn't alot. But for me, with only a 30gb harddrive, and almost half of that left, 600mb is a chunk. Yesterday, I decided to download Silkroad Online. I downloaded it, installed it, played it, diddn't like it very much, uninstalled it. Before I downloaded and installed it, I had 14.1GB of Harddrive space left. Now, after I have downloaded, installed it, uninstalled it, etc, I am still missing 600mb of harddrive space that this game has left on my system, with 13.5gb left. I cannot locate where these extra files are, as I have checked Program Files, and have deleted the whole Silkroad folder. Could someone please give me a few tips on where I could find these files left behind from this game, and delete them? I want my harddrive space back Thanks!
Or C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Temp Merged Post: ^ I clean that out like every month. You could use CCleaner, but i just do it manually. Everything in that is just backups or temp (as the foldername suggests.)
Nope.. It wasn't in either of those. I recently cleaned out Temp already, so there was only 22mb in there.. =S And its not in Application Data, that folder is only 122mb and there is nothing related to the game in there.
I would have said the temp folder, you can always do a search for all files and folders and just put * so itwilecard's and finds every file on your harddrive, then just catagorize by size and hopefully it's all 1 file and will be around 600 mb
I also had the same problem but I downloaded Crapcleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/ and installed it and it wiped all the crap off my hard drive. Hope that helps.
so you only have 30GB left? how long did it take you to fil? multiply that by two... you haven't go that much to worry about
But I thought that it jsut displaced your files over differeent sections, things load more slowly but there is still the same amount of space, it's like if you have a slurpee, and on the bottom it's green then you have some red, then a little green, and you consolidate the green together, youa re still using the same space. That's my understanding so correct me if Im wrong EDIT: and xelink, he has 15 gb left
banana, never cross food with computers... it moves the files around, yes, so it loads quicker. but a file could have a small gap inbetween that window doesnt count, and thats how you free up space edit: also, canada, did you empty the recycle bin?
