This movie is stuck in a never never land of unbelievable events. I love sci-fi, action, and comic book fantasy, but this story has no sense of reality. Examples: Superman can lift a continent and toss it into space, but he can't catch just one airplane (without it almost taking out a city block). Superman is aware that Luthor is in a crystal cave and that Luthor has stolen some "rock" from a museum, but he can't figure out that there might be Kryptonite in the cave. There are EMP-like power outages, but only one "scrappy" reporter (a terribly mis-cast Bosworth) goes to the mansion where Luthor has set up shop. A huge earthquake under the ocean sends a fault cracking towards Metropolis, but all that happens is a few windows rattle and signs fall down. (can you say tsunami?) If superman got shot in the eye the he would get hurt and the bullet would not compress into itself.

Finally, there is some build up for a romance and talk of truth and justice, but none of it goes anywhere. Just flashes and fizz. This movie has nothing to new (or even clever) to say about superheroes, morality, or the modern world. Very disappointing. I know its suppose to be sci fi but superman dose have some reaility points to it. And this movie ruins alot of that.

Yeah, you gotta have some sort of suspension of disbelief when you watch it.

    ^ lol

Yea, all movies are completely fake. You just gotta get used to it.

I think this should be great since they spend $200 Million on it. If it isn't then what a shame lol.

All it seemed to me was a four hour movie cut down to two. And all superman was doing was flying around and litfting stuff. And his enemy was Lex Luther.. whoopie dooo.. he needs more enemies. The SpiderMan 3 trailer looked alot better.

how about the fact that hes a super hero. are super heros real? no. the movies are made for our amusement. just like illusionists. dont complain how ridiculous the things are. they arent supposed to be real. just enjoy it!

Ok, I just saw it, I think it'd be coolr if it were'nt just three hours of Superman catching debris.

Also, IMO, they focused WAY too much on the whole romantic interest.

I havent seen it yet however seeing the trailers at the cinema did make me want to go and see it and I will see it at some point so when I do I'll report back. Like said above its Hollywood its not meant to be realistic its all fancy special effects and cheesy romances nothing more!!

i just saw it, and it was ok, i didnt expect to much going to see it and they changed it from the comics, also i think smallville is a better "representation" of superman than any others
