Ok, I'm trying to delete/move some files, and this one file is like

"Cannot remove this file, it is currently in use or being used by another person."

And it's not, it's old and stuff. How can I delete it?

happens to me too some time. you can do one of two things.

you can ctrl+alt+delete and click the procsesses(sp?) tab, go through the list, and see if anything might be using the file. (example: if its a psd, click photoshop, then end task)

or, just restart your computer. which would be easier.

restarting would clean your processes completely apart from the startups. so restarting it would be the better bet, if it's still being used then try finding it on the processes. unless it's like a text file or something, then yous screwed. not really, just wait for someone else to answer.

Restarting is enough, shuting down ain't neccasery.

When restarting, the computer stops for few seconds and it terminates all posible contact with the file you're trying to delete.

Enter Safe Mode and try to delete it. If that fails, go to Safe Mode, then Run -> Cmd -> type:
    cd C:\ <enter>
    DEL /f *FULL-PATH-OF-FILE* <enter>

see if that works. If not, I'm not sure.

When starting your computer, repeatedly tap F8. Once you're onto a blue screen, use your keyboard to go up to safe mode and hit enter. The graphics should be all funny once the pc loads up, and it will not have the proper screen resolution. Log on as the administrator, the account should have no password. To exit safe mode, restart your pc.

You hit F8 before the normal Windows loading screen comes up.

And yes, normally the Administrator account should have a password if you were smart enough to make one for it during installment of windows. But you don't need to login to 'Administrator', your normal account admin account that you use would do fine.
