I was checking out the Invision Power site and thinking of puchasing IPB, when I noticed that the "Buy Now" page was insecure. Considering how many sites use IPB, I thought this was a major problem, so I contacted customer relations, stating that their site was insecure. This is what I received: "The pages are https:// pages and they are therefore very secure." I replied, "Just because a page is https:// doesn't mean it is secure." And I even sent them this image to prove it: . They replied: "I am afraid that we are unable to receive attachments via our ticket center. I can assure you that all payments are made through the same site using https:// and that all payments are extremely secure. If you prefer you can contact out office and pay over the telephone: Toll Free within US: 1-800-901-5491 Outside US: +1 434-316-7201 " ----- "As Debbie mentioned, our site is secure. We have never had any issues with credit card payments. You are welcome to call our offices on Tuesday morning to make your payment over the phone if that would make you more comfortable. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know. Have a great day!" I am really ticked. On the Invision Power homepage, it states: "With a focus on developing both high quality products and first-class service, we are able to meet the needs of any size business." Suuuuuuure. I'm not saying that Invision Power is bad, just the opposite. I believe IPB is very well composed. I'm just saying the support is kinda tacky. What do you think?
That would be considered first class service. First off all they answered your question. Secondly they helped you. Thirdly they gave a working solution. That's their job, and they did it well and correctly.
maybe you should've given more details as to why it was insecure instead of just saying "it's insecure"
What browser are you using, IE7? Because i decided to use IE7 to go take a run over to invisionpowers site. Apparently, according to IE7, the CSS document was insecure. If thats any representation of how IE determines whats secure and what isnt, its no wonder it cant even realize an https is secure. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v341/hoo...isionisfine.png
I had no problems. You just have to deal with it until someone acutally attacks them then'll they'll fix it.
Some people said that it's insecure because they use images from an insecure part of the site, but the actual page is secure, I guess.
